About Supriya

I am a frontend engineer currently working at Cisco on the cross-product Momentum Design System. My work focuses on reusable Web Components with Lit, scalable UI architecture, accessibility, performance, and developer experience for products used by millions of people.

I like working at the intersection of design systems and product engineering: turning patterns into reliable components, making APIs easier for other engineers to adopt, and ensuring UI is accessible through WCAG and ARIA practices.

Before Cisco, I worked on learning products at CK-12 Foundation and backend and analytics systems at HSBC. I also write technical blogs and speak at developer community events about frontend engineering and modern web development.

Across Cisco, CK-12 Foundation, and HSBC, my work has moved between design systems, product engineering, learning technology, backend services, and analytics. I have built reusable UI components, production web applications, adaptive learning workflows, and data-driven dashboards for teams working at meaningful scale.

A large part of my recent work centers on design systems and reusable frontend architecture. I build Web Components with Lit for Cisco's Momentum Design System, help standardize component APIs, improve Storybook documentation, and support consistent UI adoption across collaboration products including Webex.

I have also led frontend development for Flexi, an AI-powered tutoring chatbot, improved React maintainability, built real-time tutoring experiences, and reduced frontend build time by about 70% through Lerna upgrades and NX caching. Earlier, I worked on Qlik Sense dashboards and Java backend services for service quality, cost optimization, incident management, and manpower planning workflows.

Backend and data: Node.js, Express, REST APIs, GraphQL, Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, MySQL, and Qlik Sense.
